Nexstar Picks GM of Charlotte Station

Lloyd Bucher has been named vice president and general manager of Nexstar owned WJZY and WMYT in Charlotte, N.C.

Bucher has been the vp and gm of WPTV in West Palm Beach, Fla since June 2015.

Ron Romines, senior vice president and regional manager for Nexstar Media Inc., said the station group is extremely pleased to have someone with Bucher’s talent, experience and commitment.

“His innovative approach to developing effective cross-platform marketing solutions for advertisers and community partners and his ability to build high-quality news, sales, and marketing teams that collaborate effectively will serve WJZY-TV, WMYT-TV and fox46.com well,” said Romines. “We’re looking forward to celebrating the successes to come under Lloyd’s leadership of our talented staff in Charlotte.”

He first joined WPTV in 2007 as director of sales. Before that, he worked in a variety of sales and marketing positions of increasing responsibility at television stations in Miami and Philadelphia between 1995 and 2005. He started his career as an attorney after graduating from law school in 1993.

Bucher, who starts on Sept. 29 and reports to Ron Romines, svp and regional manager for Nexstar Media Inc., said he is extremely grateful to Nexstar for the opportunity to work with the experienced and dedicated staff at the Charlotte Fox affiliate.
