Nexstar Names Head of Burlington Station

Craig Marrs has been named vp and gm of Burlington, Vermont and Plattsburg, N.Y. Fox affiliate WFFF. He’ll also oversee ABC affiliate WVNY through a joint operating agreement with Mission Broadcasting.

“Craig has an impressive industry background with over 35 years of broadcasting experience with the last two decades in broadcast station management,” said Theresa Underwood svp and regional manager for Nexstar Broadcasting. “He has a long-term record of strengthening station operations and financial results with exclusive local programming, news and on-air and on-line content that truly served local viewers, businesses and community organizations.”

Marrs started his career as an assignment editor and producer at KOCO in Oklahoma City. He’s worked as news director at KWTV and as vp and station manager at KRON in San Francisco. He’s also been gm of WHNT in Huntsville, Ala., KTEN in Sherman, Texas and KMIR in Palm Springs Calif. He founded NWCN in Seattle and was senior media consultant manager at Frank N. Magid Associates.
