Kevin Harlan is returning as gm of WMBD, Nexstar Broadcasting’s CBS affiliate in Peoria, Ill. Harlan will also oversee Cunningham Broadcasting’s WYZZ through an outsourcing agreement.
Harlan co-founded Huntington Broadcast Management Group in 2013. Before that, he was gm of KCOY-KKFX in Santa Maria, Calif. and also oversaw sales for Cowles California’s stations in Monterey-Salinas, Calif.
Harlan was previously gm of WMBD-WYZZ from 2002 to 2006. The press release says that under Harlan, “the sales team executed highly effective marketing initiatives that significantly increased customer retention and new local direct business partnerships by implementing effective marketing strategies and solutions for local and national advertisers.”
