Gray Soapes has been named vp and GM of Nexstar’s WCBD in Charleston, S.C.
The NBC affiliate is one of the Media General stations acquired in Nexstar’s $4.6 billion buy.
This is a return to Charleston for Soapes who started his career at WCSC as an account executive in radio and later TV. Soapes is GSM at Raycom’s WMBF in Myrtle Beach-Florence, S.C. He’s also worked at WTLV in Jacksonville and WFTS in Tampa-St. Petersburg.
