Nexstar Moves Texas GM to Little Rock, Names Replacement

Nexstar Media Group has named GMs at its Little Rock, Arkansas and Midland, Texas stations.

J. Kyle King has been promoted to vp and GM of Fox affiliate KARK-KARZ. He’ll also oversee NBC and CW affiliate KLRT and KASN. He comes from Midland, Texas ABC affiliate KMID and Fox affiliate KPEJ.

Before working for Nexstar, King was director of Sales for KXAN and KBVO in Austin, Texas. He’s also worked as manager of Fox Station Sales in Dallas, Texas and has held leadership positions at the Hispanic Television Network and at KXAS and KDFW in Dallas.

“Throughout his career with Nexstar Broadcasting and beyond, Kyle has demonstrated a results-oriented, entrepreneurial approach to the business of broadcasting and sales management,” said svp and Regional Manager of Nexstar Broadcasting Mike Vaughn. “A well-respected leader in our industry and in our Odessa-Midland operations, Kyle’s exceptional service and community involvement is acknowledged by local viewers, advertisers, businesses and community organizations throughout South Central United States.”

His replacement at KMID is Mike Lee, who will also oversee KPEJ under a joint operating agreement.

Lee comes from Raycom-owned KXXV in Waco-Temple-Bryan where he was vp and GM of the ABC and Telemundo stations for eleven years.

“Mike has an impressive industry background and is a highly-respected leader who has achieved great success in generating ratings and revenue share gains at the stations he has managed,” said Nexstar svp and Regional Manager Julie Pruett. “Throughout his career, he has consistently exceeded economic and operational goals by implementing innovative programming strategies and unique digital concepts while elevating the level of service provided to viewers and clients.”
