Hawaii News Now News Director Chris Archer has secured a job on what working broadcasters might call “the dark side.” He’s signed on with a media consulting firm, SmithGeiger LLC, as a strategic consultant.
Archer will be based in Los Angeles, where his wife and former Hawaii News Now Marketing Director Candace Hirleman has been working as the news promotion manager for KABC-TV since February, as reported in this space.

He will stay at KGMB-TV, KHNL-TV and KFVE-TV, the troika of stations in a shared services agreement, through May, in keeping with his contract. More…
