First-round bids were due yesterday, said the people, who declined to be identified because the details of the auction aren’t public. The channel, which airs “Man v. Food” and “Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations,” reaches more than 90 million homes. It has averaged 474,000 viewers during primetime this year, according to Nielsen Co.
Cox Communications Inc., the third-largest U.S. cable company, said in June that it had received unsolicited inquiries about the Travel Channel Media unit and hired Goldman Sachs Group Inc. to evaluate its options. More…
