New Year Sees Two Anchors, One Reporter Leave South Bend ABC Affiliate

Norwood Chappell Priotchard WBNDReporter Jasmine Norwood, anchors Kim Chappell and Emily Pritchard have all left South Bend, Ind. ABC affiliate WBND at the start of 2015.

News director Aaron Ramey told TVSpy, “Emily had a terrific opportunity which I’m sure you’ll be hearing about soon.  Jasmine is moving closer to her fiancé. Kim just decided to get out of the business.”

Thursday, Chappell (pictured right) wrote on her facebook page, “After eight years in local news, telling around 1800 stories in four cities and anchoring 1200 hours of live shows here in South Bend, tomorrow will be my last newscast.”

She said she was heading for San Francisco, Calif. to work for Weebly. “I’ll be curating the unique voices of their 20 million users worldwide and helping develop their community base. Looking forward to normal hours, more time with my husband and lots of globetrotting! Here’s to 2015!”

Pritchard (center) started her career at KOMU in Columbia, Mo. and joined WBND in January 2011, working her way up from MMJ to weekend anchor to morning anchor in July 2013. She tweeted out a goodbye along with pictures of her time there.


Norwood (pictured left) started at WBND in 2012. Before that, she was a PA for NBC News in New York.

Ramey said Emily Evans will join Drew Gardner as co-anchor of the station’s four-and-a-half hour morning show.
