New Orleans Anchor to Launch News Outlet

WWL anchor Mike Hoss is leaving the New Orleans CBS affiliate after nearly 30 years to launch his own news outlet.

Nola.com reports Hoss is joining his wife Betty-Ann Hoss and longtime WWL photojournalist Tom Moore in a couple of months to start Hoss Communications, an independent digital newsroom.

“Channel 4 is responsible for everything that I have professionally and personally in my life,” Hoss wrote on Facebok. “They brought me to New Orleans, a unique place I had never been before. Without them I don’t fall in love with my wife, have two awesome kids and begin a love affair with the greatest ‘city of characters’ in the world. I owe everything to them and I’m grateful for their support.”

Hoss started at WWL as a sports reporter in 1989. He moved into news in 2001.
