NBC and MSNBC anchor Shannon Mulaire will join NECN as an anchor and reporter beginning April 4.
“Shannon is smart and enthusiastic with a strong command of the anchor desk and an ability to engage viewers,” said Kenny Plotnik, NECN’s vice president of news, said in a statement. “Growing up in Connecticut and going to school and working in Boston, she fully understands New Englanders and the issues they care about because she is one. We are excited to welcome her back home and look forward to getting her on air.”
Mulaire currently anchors Early Today on NBC and First Look on MSNBC. She previously worked in Boston, anchoring morning newscasts at Fox station WFXT. She left WFXT in 2014 to be closer to her family in Connecticut, and began freelancing at NBC a year later.
