NBC Washington paid tribute to its longtime intern and associate producer who died from a longtime battle with cancer last week.
“He was one of those special interns with an infectious smile,” said NBC anchor Jim Handly.
The two-minute tribute to Andrew Tomasello featured the entire WRC team.

“Andrew made a point to get to know all of us and we got to know him,” Handly said.
Tomasello had cancer as a teenager, it came back this year. After a long fight, the 25 year old lost his fight. He aspired to be a television reporter.
