NBC O&Os Getting a Daytime Makeover

NBC has been working hard of late to put together a respectable day of programming. The debacle that was “The Jay Leno Show” in primetime and Conan O’Brien manning “The Tonight Show” top the list, of course.

But it’s not NBC’s only problem, as John Wallace, president of NBC Local Media knows. He’s doing some scrambling of his own. Specifically, he’s trying again to turn around daytime on NBC’s 10 O&Os, particularly WNBC New York and KNBC Los Angeles.

In the few weeks since NATPE, Wallace has dramatically begun to reshape daytime, notably by renewing Warner Bros.’ “Ellen” for three more seasons and snagging Sony Pictures Television’s and Harpo Production’s “Nate Berkus Show.” More…
