KXAS has promoted weekend anchor Laura Harris.
She will now anchor the NBC station’s weekday morning show in Dallas with Deborah Ferguson.
“I fell in love with Texas after relocating to the area and am very excited about this opportunity,” said Harris. “The energy and commitment of our morning team is incredible – I think our new ‘Wake Up to #SomethingGood’ format will make NBC 5 Today a popular choice for morning viewers.”

Harris joined the station in September 2018 as an anchor and reporter. She came from WFTS in Tampa, Fla.
She will begin her new role immediately.
