NBC Dallas Meteorologist Opts for Retirement

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

KXAS chief meteorologist David Finfrock is stepping down.

The longtime Dallas weather man is retiring. He plans to contribute to the station just not on a daily basis.

“My scheduled retirement date was June 1, but NBC announced some schedule changes in some of the retirement benefits, and it just made sense for me to move it up.”

He has been with NBC affiliate for 42 years. Metoorologist Rick Mitchell will step into the cheif spot. He is only the third chief in the station’s 70 years in operation.
