NBC Boston Plans to Strut its Stuff on New Year’s Eve

Comcast/NBCUniversal is going to use New Year’s Eve to show Boston viewers it has the resources to cover the market when it flips the switch on NBC Boston a little before 3 a.m. on New Year’s Day.

The NBC machine will be out in force for Boston’s First Night New Year’s Eve Celebration with WBTS anchors Phil Lipof and Shannon Mulaire anchoring six and half hours of live coverage.

Boston viewers will be able to watch the show on either NBC Boston, necn or Comcast’s regional sports network CSN New England from 6 to 12:30 a.m. Spanish speaking viewers in the audience can tune in to Telemundo Boston starting at 11 p.m. to see the show.

NBC Boston will air an interview with Jimmy Fallon, a performance by Harry Connick, Jr, a “simple and easy New Year’s Day drinks and appetizers” demo from Rachael Ray,” and a check-in with Carson Daly live from Times Square.

Dylan Dreyer and Lester Holt, along with other NBC personalities will offer New Year’s wishes throughout the night. Viewers will also get a behind the scenes sneak peak tour of the Today Show set from Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie and Dylan Dreyer.
