NBC Atop NABJ Newsroom Diversity Survey

According to the 2010 survey, NABJ believes more diverse newsrooms lead to better coverage of African American communities and more opportunities for jobs and promotions for members.

Many television stations employ a diverse staff of reporters and anchors and some of the stations meet or exceed the demographics of their respective communities.

But the third annual report on the diversity of the management teams that run 151 of those stations finds most still have a long way to go to reflect the communities they serve. More…
