Natasha Verma to Anchor Evenings at WNYW in New York

Natasha Verma has joined New York Fox owned station WNYW as its weekday 5, 6, and 10 p.m. anchor alongside Steve Lacy.

Verma replaces Lori Stokes, who announced her retirement from Fox 5 in September.

“Natasha’s personal story is compelling, and one of a resilience that many New Yorkers can relate to,” said vice president and news director, Byron Harmon. “Couple that with her news experience and commitment to covering underserved communities, and we’ve found the ideal candidate to serve our area. We are excited to welcome Natasha into the FOX5 family.”

Verma last worked at KUSA in Denver as a weekday morning anchor. Before that, she worked as a reporter and anchor for NBC10 in Boston, and WBBH in Fort Myers, Fla., before that. She started her career in broadcast journalism as a reporter for News 12 Bronx in New York.

She is also the founder of the Verma Foundation which is a national non-profit organization committed to giving high-quality cap wigs to cancer patients.

“I’m thrilled to return to NYC and join the Fox 5 family, an organization with a legacy of excellence and a commitment to community,” said Verma. “This is a dream come true, and I’m humbled and grateful for the opportunity.”
