Jim Gilchriest has been named news director of Nashville, Tenn. NBC affiliate WSMV.
“I am thrilled to be joining an amazing team of award-winning journalists at a station with such a rich tradition,” said Gilchriest in a memo a tipster sent to TVSpy. “I can’t wait to get started.”
Gilchriest was news director at WAVY-WVBT in Norfolk, Va. He started his TV career at WHEC in Rochester. He’s also worked as assistant news director at WXII in Winston-Salem, N.C. and WCNC in Charlotte.
