Buffalo, N.Y.’s WIVB has announced the promotion of Nalina Shapiro to weekday evening anchor.
Shapiro has worked at the CBS affiliate for five years, first as a reporter then as a weekend morning anchor.
She announced the news of her promotion on Twitter and Facebook yesterday, writing:
I’m honored, excited and feel blessed to begin a new chapter at Channel 4. I love serving this community and now I will get to, just a little later in the day. Thank you to everyone who has let me tell their stories of triumph, tragedy, and everything in between since I moved to Buffalo in 2010. I hope you can join me Monday-Friday at 530pm on Channel 4 and 10pm on the CW23. Please keep sending me story ideas
Prior to joining WIVB, Shapiro worked as an intern at WBZ, the CBS-owned station in Boston.
