Saying he wanted to surrender on neutral ground, Michael Tyrone Webb, Jr. followed his uncle’s advice and turned himself over to authorities in the parking lot of Oklahoma City CBS affiliate KWTV.

“I turned on the news like I normally do, channel 9 and I saw my nephew was wanted for murder along with another young lady,” said Webb’s uncle Eugene Moore.

Moore convince Webb to turn himself in. Webb chose KWTV parking lot to do it. The station says he sat in the lot for just under an hour, though they weren’t involved in the decision.

“He’s a good kid,” Moore said adding it was a difficult decision. “It’s about right and wrong. He’s my nephew and I love him, I mean, I have children. If you do wrong there are consequences, no matter what the circumstances are.”
