More Jacksonville Viewers Watched WJXT on Election NIght

Jacksonville station WJXT says it was the most watched in the market on election night.

WJXT started continuous coverage at 7 p.m. and stayed on the air until 3:30 a.m. and was tops from 8 to 11 p.m. with a 7.2 household rating and 9.7 share. The station’s 6 was the highest rated local newscast of the day with a 7.5 rating/12 share followed by its 6:30, which had a 7.5 rating/11 share and a 7.3 rating/10 share at 10 for the first half hour.

“We know all stories are local stories,” said Bob Ellis, WJXT vp & GM. “With no network affiliation, covering the Presidential election entirely with our local staff reaffirms that point. I’m fiercely proud that we served our viewers what they wanted and helped them understand how this election affects Northeast Florida.”

Looking at multi-platform coverage, on average there were 175,000 users on News4JAX.com with 1,302,996 pageviews on News4JAX.com and the News4JAX app.

WJXT says this is the third straight Presidential election that it has won the ratings against the other stations in the market.
