With Daniella Guzman set to take over as co-anchor of KNBC’s “Today in LA,” the NBC owned station in Southern California has some other changes in the works for its morning newscast.
A KNBC spokesperson confirms to TVSpy that Whit Johnson, who currently anchors the noon newscast, will co-anchor “Today in LA” alongside Guzman. Johnson will swap with Michael Brownlee, who currently anchors the morning newscast and will be moving to the noon newscast.
Michelle Valles, who has been co-anchoring the morning newscast since Alycia Lane parted ways with KNBC last year, will return to her previous role as co-anchor of the weekend edition of “Today in LA” and report during the week.
On the revamped morning newscast, which debuts June 30, Guzman and Johnson will be joined by meteorologist Crystal Egger and traffic reporter Holly Hannula, who joined KNBC this week.
