Montgomery Reporter’s Felony Charge Dropped

The felony escape charge against television reporter Eileen Jones has been dropped, a Montgomery Police Department spokesman said.

Jones was charged with assault third degree and escape third degree after she allegedly ran over a police officer’s foot and then drove off after being arrested.

Montgomery police detectives consulted with the district attorney’s office and decided that even though probable cause existed, it was best to drop the felony charge considering the circumstances as a whole, said Capt. Keith Barnett, a police spokesman. More…
