Missouri Anchor Returns to Local TV After Government Job

Mike Landis is coming back to local news after working in government for a couple of years.

Landis, who left KYTV in 2018 to work as the public information officer for the city of Republic, Mo., starts at Springfield, Mo. CBS and Fox affiliate KOLR-KRBK in April.

He will be the evening anchor on the Nexstar-owned stations on the weekend and will report during weeknights, Landis said on his Facebook page.

“I’m really excited to connect with everyone again,” Landis told the Springfield News-Leader. “That was one of the things I loved about the news—every day traveling to new towns in the area and meeting people and hearing their stories and being trusted to tell those stories. I’m really looking forward to getting out in the communities and doing that again.”
