WBNS Cuts Ties With Mike Davis Following Child Pornography Arrest

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

WBNS, the CBS affiliate in Columbus, Ohio, has released meteorologist Mike Davis from his position after 31 years, following his arrest last week on child pornographic charges.

“It has been a difficult few days and our team has been shocked by this news. We have decided to end our relationship with Mike Davis due to a violation of certain terms of his employment with WBNS. We have no further comment,” said general manager John Cardenas in a statement.

Davis was arraigned and released on bond Friday after being charged with pandering pornography.

Detectives discovered images on computers and hard drives in his home and also at the station.

WBNS said last week it will cover the Davis case the same as it would any other story in the market.
