Mikaya Thurmond is leaving Raleigh-Durham, N.C. NBC affiliate WRAL.
Thurmond announced the news on social media, saying she was the youngest reporter at WRAL when she started and she “NEVER dreamed” she would be promoted to weekend anchor “and again to weekday morning anchor.”
“PERSONAL NEWS After 7 amazing years at WRAL TV, my last day on-air will be August 12th,” she said. “I’ll share what’s next very soon! For now, I simply want to thank my WRAL family and YOU!”

She worked at WTVC in Chattanooga before joining WRAL in 2015. Her last day at WRAL is August 12.
