Chernéy Amhara will join Miami NBC owned station WTVJ as weekend morning anchor working alongside Heather Walker.
“We are happy to welcome Chernéy to our NBC 6 news team,” said Dawn Clapperton, WTVJ vice president of News. “She is passionate about enterprising stories and breaking news and, along with Heather, will bring that passion to weekend mornings.”
Amhara will also work weekdays as a reporter. Her on-air anchoring debut will be Feb. 5.

Amhara comes from WISN in Milwaukee, where she spent three years as weekend morning anchor and weekday reporter. Before that, she worked at KVVU in Las Vegas and as a Multimedia Journalist at WCAV in Charlottesville, Va.
