Miami Station Hires a New Traffic Anchor, Even Though There’s No Traffic Right Now

The morning rush hasn’t been much of a thing lately in any major U.S. city, but in Miami, there is a new traffic anchor.

WPLG has hired South Florida native Alexis Frazier to join the station’s morning team.

She started earlier this month and has been giving traffic updates to Floridians from 4:30-10:30 a.m. each morning.

Frazier graduated in 2013 from Florida A&M and spent five years getting experience as an anchor-reporter in Texas and South Carolina before returning home.

Traffic in Florida has slowed tremendously since the state issued a stay-at-home order. Nonessential businesses are slowly opening, though, which means traffic anchors across the state will have more to talk about.
