Miami Meteorologist Betty Davis Hospitalized With Covid-19

Covid-19 continues to affect the WPLG newsroom in Miami.

First, the station’s main anchor Nicole Perez and her husband, reporter Roy Ramos, got ill. In a conversation with Perez’s co-anchor Calvin Hughes, Ramos shared that he was diagnosed with Covid-induced pneumonia and had to go to the hospital for chest X-rays.

Now, Local 10’s chief meteorologist Betty Davis is in the hospital battling the illness.

In a Facebook post, Davis said she’s scared but is putting all of her “energy and focus” toward fighting the virus.

“I am weathering this storm with a lot of fear, but with also a great deal of faith,” Davis wrote in Facebook on Monday.

Davis is one of nine people at the station who has tested positive for the virus. Anchor Louis Aguirre also tested positive but remains asymptomatic and believes his test was wrong.

More than 90 staffers and family at the station were tested last week.
