After 35 years with WTVT, Channel 13, well-known meteorologist Howard Shapiro is retiring.
“I decided to leave while I still have my health because there is a lot that I want to see and do,” says Shapiro, 62, who plans to leave in 90 days.

“I think my last week will be in October around Halloween,” he says. “I like this job and I like the people here and I had thought that I would stay on; but I recently had a friend who was 60 and he got up one morning and dropped dead in the shower.” More…
