WPEC reporter Jay O’Brien caught a meteor on camera while he was filming a Facebook Live video Monday night.
The Florida reporter was reporting about a senior housing complex when the meteor drew his attention away from the story.
“WOAH! Big flash and streak across sky in West Palm Beach. Happened moments ago while we were on Facebook Live for a CBS12 story,” he wrote, sharing a video of the incident.
Yahoo News said the video of the meteor was shared on social media by people from West Palm Beach, Fla. to Miami. But O’Brien had to get back to work reporting on the other story at hand.
“Reporting in 2021 is seeing a massive fireball during a Facebook Live, acknowledging the sheer awe, then turning back to the topic at hand whilst furiously sending off camera messages to figure out what that was,” he tweeted.
