Marvell Scott Sentenced to Community Service After Entering Guilty Plea

By Merrill Knox

Marvell Scott, the former WABC sports reporter who was charged with rape last winter, was sentenced to 20 days of community service after pleading guilty to child endangerment yesterday.

Scott — who was with the New York ABC O&O for seven years before leaving the station for a career in sports medicine — was accused of raping a 14-year-old runaway in New York City in 2008. He maintained his innocence after being charged, claiming he was framed. If Scott successfully completes his community service, the misdemeanor will be wiped from his record in six months.
