Man Won’t Leave Denver Station Lobby. Allegedly Bites Cop

A man who refused to leave Denver ABC affiliate KMGH, was arrested after he allegedly bit one of the officers escorting him out.

KMGH reports, the man walked into the station lobby Friday afternoon saying he was a Nobel Peace Prize winner and wanted to speak to a reporter. The receptionist asked him to leave, but he refused. The building manager asked him to leave, but he again refused. So police were called.

Denver police arrived and escorted the man out of the lobby, but 7NEWS staff said they saw the man begin resisting, and then they saw him bite one of the officers on the hand.

The man then managed to flee and run around the building until he was stopped by officers on East 7th Avenue.

An officer told 7NEWS crews at the scene that a Taser was used to stop the man.

On video shot by 7NEWS anchor Eric Kahnert, seven officers were seen taking part in his arrest as one of the officers is overheard ordering the man to stop biting.

Police said the officer who was bitten suffered serious bodily injury, but is expected to be OK.
