Man Sets Fire to San Diego Fox Employees Cars

By Kevin Eck

Police are investigating a suspected arson after several cars at the San Diego Fox affiliate KSWB on Monday night.

The station’s security camera captured the incident just after 9:30 p.m.

The station said a man was first seen unsuccessfully attempting to start a fire at the front door of the Fox 5 building, using small bits of paper and a nearby planter.

He then moved to the parking gate where he used what appeared to be a blow torch to burn a keypad. Afterward, he moved around to the front parking lot where he set fire to three employees’ cars, destroying at least one.

The station said several employees ran outside with fire extinguishers to put out the flames before San Diego Fire Department arrived. No one was injured.

The suspect has not been identified and remains at large. He was last seen on camera wearing a hoodie and a large backpack.
