Karen Araiza has been named news director of Portland and Bangor, Maine NBC affiliate WCSH and WLBZ.
Araiza is the managing editor of Integrated Media for WCAU in Philadelphia.
“Karen has demonstrated a deep understanding of journalism in the digital age, and how best to connect with our audiences and communities in meaningful and relevant ways,” said Brian Cliffe, president & GM. “She was early to recognize the power and potential of emerging digital platforms, and has been recognized by her peers for her great work.”

She’s also worked as a producer at WDAF in Kansas City, Mo. and KFOR in Oklahoma City, Okla. She started her career at KCEN in Waco, Texas.
