Madison Station Goes Orange to Stop Hunger

Madison, Wisc. NBC affiliate WMTV asked its viewers to “Go Orange” to help fight hunger.

Along with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Southern Wisconsin, The “Go Orange” campaign asked viewers to take a picture of themselves alone or in a group wearing orange and post it to WMTV’s facebook page using the #Orange4SHFB hashtag.

The anchor team got in on the act, John Stofflet and Leigh Mills, along with meteorologist Brian Doogs, and sports anchor Robb Vogel did the 4:00, 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. newscasts wearing orange polo shorts to bring awareness to the cause.

By the end of day, the station says it helped donate 72,000 meals to Second Harvest Food Bank.
