Longtime WAGA Producer Lands News Director Title

WAGA, the Fox-owned station in Atlanta, Ga., has named a new vice president and news director.

Scott Stucky will oversee all news functions for Fox 5 Atlanta and report to vice president and general manager, Bill Schneider. This is a promotion for Stucky, who has been at the station since 1996.

“Having spent the last two decades of his career at WAGA, Scott has worn many hats, from producer and operations manager, to Good Day Atlanta supervisor and digital team leader. He has been the go-to person on nearly every significant newsroom initiative and I’m confident he will keep our station focused on serving the needs of our community,” said Schneider.

Most recently, Stucky served as senior executive producer of news. He has also held positions of news operations manager, executive producer of weekend newscasts, supervising producer of Good Day Atlanta and newscast producer.

“I’m honored and excited to have this opportunity to lead the outstanding team of journalists here at FOX 5 Atlanta,” added Stucky. “I’ve had the pleasure to work as part of the FOX 5 team for 22 years, and I look forward to helping continue the station’s tradition of excellence in providing news and information to our audience.”

Stucky started his career in broadcasting as a producer at FOX 22/WLFL-TV in Raleigh, N.C.
