“All of us at Channel 2 News will miss Wendy’s energy and passion in the newsroom,” said KTVN news director Jason Pasco. “We know she will be missed by our viewers, too. But, we all wish Wendy and her family all the very best going forward and we thank her for her many years of dedicated service and for her friendship.”

She started at KTVN as a weekend/nightside assignment editor. She was promoted to reporter/photographer before being named weekend, then early morning newscast anchor. She was named evening news anchor and health watch reporter in 2000.

“Channel 2 has been my home for the past 21 years. I love this station with all my heart and I will continue to support it from the other side of the camera,” said Damonte. “I’m excited for a new challenge and am thrilled to continue my efforts to make the Truckee Meadows a healthy community.”
