Longtime Lansing Anchor Jo Anne Paul-Stanton Dies at 57

Jo Anne Paul-Stanton, a longtime morning and noon news anchor for Lansing CBS affiliate WLNS, died December 3 after a brief illness. She was 57, reports the Lansing State Journal.

Paul-Stanton first signed on with WLNS in 1986, staying until 1995. Veteran journalist Dave Akerly met her in the fall of 1990 and recalls a “great reporter.”

“She was a very straight shooter when it came to her job and how to report the news, but she had such a deadpan delivery that sometimes people didn’t know when she was kidding and when she was serious,” Akerly said.

Bob Hoffman, who co-anchored with Paul-Stanton, told the newspaper “she was tough, she was knowledgeable, intelligent and one of the funniest people I’ve ever met.”
