Longtime Boston Reporter Takes Anchor Job At Competing Station

Boston reporter, J.C. Monahan left the ABC affiliate, WCVB in February and is now heading to NBC Boston to fill an anchor role.

She will anchor the station’s afternoon and evening weekday newscasts, according to the Boston Globe.

“We are thrilled to welcome J.C. to the NBC Boston family. Her years of experience in the Boston news scene, both as a news anchor and meteorologist make her an invaluable addition and I’m proud and honored to call J.C. a member of our team,” said Kenny Plotnik, the vice president of news for NBC Boston.

The Globe reports she said this when she left WCVB in February after 15 years, “personal growth comes when you step outside your comfort zone, and I am ready to chart a new course.”

NBC Boston launched in February. Monahan will be on-air in mid-July.
