Longtime Atlanta Anchor Leaving Newscast, But Not The Station

By Kevin Eck

Viewers of Atlanta ABC affiliate WSB will notice a change in the morning anchor lineup starting tomorrow, when veteran anchor Linda Stouffer (right) will leave the desk to take on a daily contributor role for the morning and evening newscasts.

“What a joy it’s been waking up with Atlanta every day,” said Stouffer. “Like a lot of people, I did some re-evaluating in the pandemic and decided that I need a little more sleep, and a schedule that lines up with the people I love. But I’m thrilled to say, I’m not going anywhere!”

Taking Stouffer’s place on the evening line-up is Lori Wilson, who will join the WSB morning newscast starting Tuesday at 4:30 a.m. Wilson joins Fred Blankenship, Brian Monahan, Mark Arum and Heather Catlin.

“It takes a special person to join the Channel 2 Action News morning team,” said WSB vp and general manager Ray Carter. “They must demonstrate two key qualities: a commitment to journalistic excellence and our community and the ability to connect with our viewers as the news cycle constantly changes.”

Wilson (picutured left) has worked at WSB since 2017. Prior to joining the station, she also worked at WISH in Indianapolis and WCAU in Philadelphia.
