Longtime Anchor Kim Insley Thanks Tom Lindner in KARE Blog Post

By Andrew Gauthier

In a new blog post on KARE’s website, veteran anchor Kim Insley bids a heartfelt farewell to longtime newsroom boss Tom Lindner, who was let go by the NBC-affiliate yesterday.

Calling it “a tough day for KARE,” Insley, who has been with the station for the past 18 years, tells viewers that Lindner “will be missed.”

Station management informed staff of Lindner’s departure at an all-hands newsroom meeting on Wednesday. Lindner told the Star-Tribune the decision was not his.

Here’s an excerpt from Insley’s post:

I just want to say, thank you, Tom, for believing in me and letting me be a part of that family. Thank you for being the working woman’s dream boss by supporting me in being a working mother. No one has been more flexible in helping people live their lives. Thanks for letting us try the things we wanted to try, for letting us make mistakes, and going to bat for us. Not saying hello to you every morning will be… weird. This is a sad day for all of us.
