Longtime Abilene Anchor Leaving for Dream Job

After 18 years at KTXS, longtime anchor George Levesque is leaving.

He will take his ‘dream job’ at the Paramount Theatre in Abilene, Texas.

“It has been my immense privilege to work at KTXS for the last 17 1/2 years,” he said. “I started here as a young man in my 20s and have spent most of my adult life at this station. I’ve been very fortunate to work with this group of men and women, and thank KTXS for the opportunity to serve in so many important roles over these years.”

This is not a random move. Over the years, Levesque has performed in close to a dozen plays at the Paramount. In June, he will move from a staff position to executive director at the playhouse.

Levesque joined the Sinclair owned ABC affiliate in 2000 as a sports reporter. Three years later, he took over as anchor of KTXS This Morning.

His last day at the station is November 30.
