London Broadcasting Acquires East Texas CW Affiliate

London Broadcasting Company, the company that operates KYTX CBS19, announced Friday that it has acquired CW affiliate KCEB-TV from Charles Chatelain and Estes Broadcasting. The CW affiliate serves Tyler and Longview. LBC signed an agreement with KCEB to act as a sales representative and share certain services with the CBS affiliate in Tyler.

The CW Network was formed when WB and UPN merged. CBS19 General Manager John Gaston said there will be no changes for East Texas viewers.

“It’s the premier young adult network,” Gaston said. “We will continue to program the CW and look for opportunities to provide more local programming.”

He added, “It really complements our CBS affiliate, which tends to have an older appeal. It will give us a good balance and good programming for our audience and our advertisers.”

A sales and management agreement is already effective. However, company officials await final approval. More…
