Longtime TVH11 meteorologist in Little Rock, Tom Brannon, is trading his morning show spot for a job in production.

Brannon will join Ron Sherman, who is a former weatherman in the market, as a director of operations for his company.

“I had my family to think about. Doing this takes a toll on your overall well being. I’m tired, I need some rest,” said the morning weather anchor.

Brannon has been with the Tegna owned CBS affiliate, since 1996 and has been on the morning show since 1998, according to station news director Dave Parker.

“I often describe Tom as one of the hardest working people in local TV, his dedication to the viewers and people in central Arkansas is unbelievable. The THV11 team will miss Tom, but we are happy for him and his family.”

Brannon has covered major weather events in Arkansas including a F-4 tornado in March of 1997. It was the strongest and deadliest outbreak in almost 30 years.

He will stay on the morning show through the end of the year.
