WABC anchor Bill Ritter has spent two decades reporting the news for the flagship ABC station in New York.
He celebrated his 20th anniversary yesterday.
“I started as weekend anchor with @SandraBookman7 @LeeGoldbergABC7 & Mark Stevens. I worked the Saturday & Sunday night shows.. and then worked Mondays-Fridays at my “old” job – @ABC2020 seems like yesterday, seems like forever,” Ritter said on Twitter.
Ritter started at Eyewitness News in 1998 on weekends while working as a 20/20 correspondent during the week. In 1999, he was named the 11 p.m. anchor and in 2001 the 6 p.m. anchor.
“Congratulations to @billritter7 — you are one of the truly good guys in broadcast news,” said Dave Price, WNBC weather anchor.
