WBBM reporter Mike Parker, who retired from the business in 2016 after 35 years, died over the weekend.

“For 35 years, Chicagoland was the sole beneficiary of his craft and we are grateful for all he contributed to this station and our viewers. He loves reporting, he loves investigating. He loves everything about his work. It’s like practically his soul. Everywhere we drive around town, it was always an education for me because he would point out, ‘Oh, severed head in that dumpster. Oh, murder over here,’ just all these different stand-ups and stories that he’s done,” said CBS 3 vice president Jeff Harris.

On Monday, the station aired a tribute video to the longtime Chicago reporter.
