KRCR legend Mike Mangas is leaving television for a communications job after 40 years.

“It would be impossible to put into words what this TV station has meant to me for more than 40 years. I’ve loved my time here, and I will truly miss my co-workers and the viewers,” Mangas said.

He started as an intern at the ABC affiliate in Chico-Redding market in 1975 while attending Chino State. Mangas spent 20 years as a sports anchor before transitioning into news.
