Lee Rosenthal has been named news director for San Francisco Bay Area FOX affiliate KTVU.

“After an extensive nationwide search, Lee’s pedigree in Journalism, his leadership skills, track record of news expansion, ratings growth and his passion for Social Media make him the perfect fit to lead our Newsroom,” said Tom Raponi, KTVU-KICU vice president and general Manager.

Rosenthal comes to KTVU from Indianapolis FOX affiliate WXIN. His first day at KTVU will be April 22.

“I’m honored to be joining one of the best Newsrooms and stations in the country,” said Rosenthal. “I look forward to carrying on the great tradition of excellence at KTVU.”

In December, Rosenthal was the sole news director still working at one of the four affiliated stations in the Indianapolis market. He has worked at WXIN since 2009.

Before working at WXIN, Rosenthal was executive producer at WBNS in Columbus, OH.  He also worked at WFTS in Tampa, FL, WVLT in Knoxville, TN and WBNG in Binghamton, NY.
