KTNV Las Vegas meteorologist Dani Beckstrom is joining America’s most-watched local station, New York’s WABC.

Beckstrom announced the news on social media by saying, “After 3 years in Las Vegas, I’m trading in Lady LVerty for the real thing!! I have been offered a spot on ABC7NY’s legendary weather team and my final day at KTNV Channel 13 Action News is this Friday.”

Beckstrom said that when she was an intern with NY1 she used to walk an extra 30 blocks just to pass ABC7 on her way home from work and manifest,”

“Even after a decade of dreaming, it still seems beyond comprehension that the #1 station in the #1 market in the country finds me worthy of joining their newsroom,” she said. “Is this a case of mistaken identity? Possibly. Probably. Almost certainly. But I plan to show up before they have time to change their minds.”

She started her career at KPVI in Pocatello, Idaho before moving to KIVI in Boise, Idaho and WFTX in Cape Coral, Florida.
